On Thursday, Aug. 1, the King County Medical Examiner’s Office released the identity of the man who died at Burien Town Square Park on Tuesday night, July 30, 2024.

The victim was identified at Juan C. Crisostomo-Serafin, 19.

Coroners have yet to release the cause of his death, only listing it as “pending.”

As we previously reported, Crisostomo-Serafin was found unresponsive in the park at around 8:50 p.m. Tuesday night.

Police said witnesses reported finding him lying on the ground on stairs at the park, located on SW 152nd Street and 5th Place SW.

Medics located him, but despite lifesaving interventions, he tragically passed away.

We send our deepest sympathies to all who knew and loved Juan.

  1. I have lived in the Burien, Des Moines, Normandy Park area my whole life.
For most of my life I never saw stories of massive drug busts or overdose deaths or shootings and stabbings. They are a regular occurrence now. What has changed?

    1. We are in a battle with a newer drug fentanyl and the people who sale it . Then the people who take it and don’t realize a amount the size of a grain of rice can kill you also how addictive the high can be . Then there are some people that know this and unfortunately want to end their life and choose to take too much .
There are some other issues too like the local news and the big 24h news corporations are learning what gets more clicks and views what brings in the money . When some news corporations where just getting by and losing viewers do to cell phones and tablets people not having to watch the news at 4:30am ,noon,5pm,11pm . Less people ordering the lame products from the dumb ad’s that don’t work and have auto shipping and billing of more useless items . hard to cancel .
