In lieu of the pandemic-related reimagining of Burien’s awesome in-person Arts-A-Glow event, all are invited to safely enjoy an Art Walking Tour through Sept. 30, 2020.
In 2019, a giant thunderstorm shut Arts-A-Glow down, and now in 2020…a pandemic! But the Glow will not be stopped, and you can celebrate art in Burien this year with these fun and safe activities; here’s more from the city:
Make Lanterns at Home
Pick up a lantern making kit! We will miss seeing you at the lantern making booth this year but come grab a bag of simple supplies and make at home!
Bags will be available during the B-Town Beat Art Walk on Friday, September 4 at the following locations in downtown Burien: Phoenix Tea Shop, Sitka Living, Highline Heritage Museum, Btown Yarn, and Discover Burien.
Pick up kits while they last at Phoenix Tea Shop, 447 SW 152nd St.
Porch-a-Glowing
Watch for Porch-a-Glowing, September 14–28! Bring some art and light to your home and neighborhood as you make your porch, windows, deck, GLOW! Watch for the virtual event on our Facebook page.
Art POP!

Projection POPS!
Saturdays, 8–10 p.m. Arts-A-Glowing and Lusio are thrilled to present four nights of pop up projection art experiences. Two local video artists will be a creating pop-up projected video art experience in Burien each weekend during the month of September. These pop-up video experiences will be original pieces of video artwork created specifically for the sites chosen. More information.
To stay safe please drive by, walk by, wear a mask, stay distanced, and just stay for a bit so others can enjoy the art safely. No gathering please!
Park Art! Outdoor Daylight Art Gallery at Dottie Harper Park
Lusio is working with area artists to install works of art that will be displayed in Dottie Harper Park (421 SW 146th St.) September 10–30. Find art hung into the trees or woven into the park flora, made of recycled materials or nature!
