REMINDER: Burien’s 19th annual Arts-A-Glow festival will bring illuminated art, music and family activities to downtown Burien from 7 to 10:30 p.m. next Saturday night, Sept. 12.
The free, family-friendly event will light up SW 152nd and SW 153rd Streets from 4th Ave SW to Olde Burien, as well as Town Square Park.
This unique festival will feature art installations, interactive sculptures, light projections and more. Visitors can also expect roving artists, musical performances, a special night market and opportunities to create illuminated art.
Attendees are encouraged to take part in the experience by wearing glowing costumes or bringing a favorite lantern.
And be sure to look for our cameras as we’ll be there recording!
Enjoy a Mystical Forest at Highline Heritage Museum
From 7–10 p.m., the Highline Heritage Museum will transform info a Mystical Forest, a “flowing world of light, art, music, movement and imagination.”
Live performances will include:
- 8 p.m.: Taekwondo
- 8:15 p.m.: Chaotic Noise
- 9 p.m.: Moon Dancers
Free Lantern Making Workshop Sept. 11
Families can also attend a free lantern-making workshop from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, at the Burien Library. More information about the workshop is available here.
Arts-A-Glow is hosted by the City of Burien with support from Discover Burien, the Highline Heritage Museum, The B-Town Blog, Alaska Airlines and 4Culture.
