Organizers of Burien’s awesome, annual Arts-A-Glow festival are seeking artists to submit proposals for illuminated art installations and other light-based works for this year’s event in downtown Burien.
The free community arts festival, now entering its 19th year, is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 12, from 7 to 10:30 p.m. throughout downtown Burien.
Applications are being accepted through 8 p.m. on July 6 through the festival’s online submission process, available here.
Artists are encouraged to submit proposals for new or existing temporary illuminated artworks that can be exhibited during the one-day celebration.
Hosted by the City of Burien and developed and implemented by city staff and community artists, Arts-A-Glow has become one of the city’s signature annual arts events.
Organizers said the 2026 festival will build on previous years with “a new collection of art including projection mapping on buildings, light-art installations, roving performers, spectacles, and hands-on experiences for people of all ages.”
The event transforms downtown Burien into an outdoor arts venue featuring interactive experiences, performances and illuminated artwork designed to engage visitors of all ages.
Artists interested in participating can find application information and submission requirements through the Arts-A-Glow artist call website. Selected works will be displayed during the Sept. 12 festival.
Organizers are encouraging artists with creative ideas involving light, projection, illumination and other visual experiences to apply before the July deadline.
