Seattle City Light crews restored electricity to an estimate 3,300 customers in the Burien/Normandy Park area, after mylar balloons caused an outage on Saturday night, Sept. 26, 2020.
The outage affected an area from around Three Tree Point/Gregory Heights on the west up to Riverton Heights on the north, and power was fully restored around 9 p.m.
However, the origin of the mylar balloons remains a mystery.
The cause of the outage has been identified as balloons on the wires. Our crews have removed the balloons, and power has been restored to 2,300 customers in the Burien/Normandy Park area. Power should be restored to the remaining 1,000 customers in the next hour.

It was mylar balloons on a telephone pole on 138th, right across the street from our house.
