Power outages hit the Burien area Saturday night, Nov. 7 as Seattle City Light reported at least 20,582 customers without electricity across the region.

The utility’s outage map showed several outages in Burien, as well around White Center, SeaTac, Tukwila and Boulevard Park. Power is out starting at Three Tree Point on the south and stretching all that way up north through Boulevard Park into White Center and beyond.

Overall, nearly 33,000 customers were without electricity.

The largest outage listed on the map affected 4,884 customers in Burien. The utility said that outage began at 8:42 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, and the estimated power restoration would return by 2:53 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 8.

City Light listed the cause as under investigation, but we all know it was a windstorm hitting a weak electrical infrastructure.

City Light updates its map every five minutes. Customers can report an outage at 206-684-3000 using their account number or the phone number associated with their account. The utility advises anyone who encounters a downed power line to stay at least 30 feet away and call 911.
