Burien was represented at the historic Women’s March in Seattle on Saturday (Jan. 21), as the Kleitsch family participated – along with an estimated 175,000 others.
This event is considered to be the largest-ever demonstration in U.S. history, with estimates of over 3.3 million participants.
The Seattle version started at Judkins Park at 10 a.m., then wound its way 3.6 miles through downtown before ending late in the afternoon at the Seattle Center.
Estimates are that Seattle was the sixth most attended one in the nation, just behind Boston.

Seattle Chef Tom Douglas handed out tea and muffins, and also thanked people for marching.

Karsten Kleitsch was interviewed on KING5 (video below).

  1. We were there too. Wonderful march and good to be around so many people who care about the future of our Great County! The the right of the people peaceably to assemble is one of our First Amendment Rights!

  2. Thank you for this terrific post! Saturday made me so proud! To gather without rancor and let it be known that ‘WE’ are America. WE are good people!
