In collaboration with the Cities of Burien and Normandy Park, Burien Arts is pleased to present two Shakespeare plays, produced and directed by Greenstage.

First up will be King Henry VI, Part 1 at Lake Burien School Memorial Park on Sunday, July 30, 2023, starting at 7 p.m.

Then Romeo and Juliet will be performed at Marvista Park on Sunday, Aug. 6 starting at 5 p.m.

Both plays are free, and donations will be accepted.

King Henry VI, Part 1

  • WHAT: King Henry VI, Part 1: England is weakened by the death of Henry V as Joan of Arc, savior of the French, leads a rebellion against the English occupiers. Back in England, a struggle for control of the throne ignites a bloody civil war between two factions laying claim to the kingship.
  • WHEN: Sunday, July 30, 2023, starting at 7 p.m.
  • WHERE: Lake Burien School Memorial Park, 1620 SW 149th Street, Burien, WA. Restrooms and children’s play area available. Bring your folding camp chair and picnic.
  • COST: FREE. Donations appreciated.

Romeo and Juliet

  • WHAT: Romeo and Juliet: Two teens from feuding families meet and fall madly in love. Due to their families’ mutual hatred, they know that they will not be allowed to be together. Aided by a sympathetic friar, they secretly marry. Complications arise and the young couple end in a double suicide. The two grieving families make peace at last.
  • WHEN: Sunday, Aug. 6, 2023, starting at 5 p.m.
  • WHERE: Marvista Park, 19990 4th Ave SW, Normandy Park, WA (a 15-minute drive south of Burien). Rest rooms and children’s play area available. Bring your folding camp chair and picnic
  • COST: FREE. Donations appreciated.
