The National Weather Service (NWS), along with local @SeattleWXGuy Michael Snyder, is predicting that rain will fall on our area starting Monday morning, July 24, 2023.

Yes, rain is a bit unusual for the middle of summer, but we’ll take it. The last date of any measurable precipitation at Sea-Tac Airport was .42 of an inch over a month ago, on June 20, 2023.

NWS said that a somewhat stalled frontal system offshore will move east into Western Washington on Monday morning, bringing with it some much needed moisture, which may help cool off wildfires and quench the area’s thirst.

“Light rain well out ahead of the front moving over Western Washington in the morning and early afternoon hours,” NWS said in its forecast discussion. “Heaviest rain will be just ahead and with the front. There is a little juice with this feature.”

“Further south in the interior rainfall amounts of a tenth to a quarter of an inch likely. Highs
will be in the 60s. Lows Monday morning in the 50s,” NWS added.

The wet stuff will fall starting after 5 a.m. Monday morning, July 24, and continue through Tuesday around 11 a.m. or so.

You might want to take these predictions into consideration when it comes to any outdoor activities, or that nice new patio furniture with the pretty pillows that you just put together.
