A person was hospitalized early Wednesday morning, April 16, 2025 following a shooting in the 14000 block of 1st Ave South, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded around 3:40 a.m. early Wednesday after reports of gunfire near Highline Christian Church.

Police said that one victim was located with gunshot wounds and transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

The extent of the victim’s injuries or motive behind the shooting was not immediately released.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains active.

“We will provide more information as it becomes available,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact law enforcement at (206) 296-3311.

  1. Just curious if it happened at 150th and 1st Ave S by Highline Christian Church or 140th and 1st Ave S by Elephant Car Wash. One location is too close to home and seems kind of scary. And, why we heard the helicopter for a long time early this morning.

  2. Thank you, Scott, for the clarification. Hate to mention this, but there are always folks hanging out there that seem to be a little sketchy. It’s a bit unnerving to leave Big 5 or HK Market and drive through there. At times, they stood right in front of my car and asked for money. The last time it happened, I actually had to back up and go through the Denny’s parking lot to get back on 1st Ave.
