Sylvester Middle School is set to celebrate the unveiling of its new synthetic field, track, and mini soccer pitch in partnership with the RAVE Foundation, on Friday, Sept. 6, 2024, from 3 – 4:30 p.m.
The official opening event will take place after a school assembly.
The community event, hosted by Sounders FC legend Brad Evans, will feature a variety of activities, including soccer skills and drills, music, food, and free soccer balls for children.
The new track and field is one of the 2022 school bond projects approved by local voters. A modular restroom is being installed next to the field and mini pitch with the help of state funding administered by the Department of Commerce.
The mini pitch was made possible through the collaboration with the RAVE Foundation, part of the club’s mission to foster sports participation and healthy lifestyles through soccer.
Sylvester Middle School students and the broader community will benefit from the upgraded facilities, which are designed to encourage active play and community involvement.
The event is free to attend, and organizers encourage attendees to RSVP:
