Vintage Jazz Films will add new a dimension to the 7th annual Highline Classic Jazz Festival, which will be held on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 3 – 11 p.m. This year’s fest will be a “Jazz Walk” with music at five downtown Burien businesses, plus vintage jazz films at the 42-seat Tin Theater (with bar), all within easy walking distance on SW 152nd Street. - 3:30 – 4:15 Jazz Movie Juke Box: Jazz masters swing again in a medley of rare footage from features, shorts, cartoons, and real movie juke box clips. Satch, Duke, Fats and more, on original 16mm film, with commentary by filmmaker and jazz historian Joe Vinikow.
- 4:45 – 5:30 Jazz Women on Film: Priceless appearances by peerless performers, on pristinely preserved prints. Ella, Billie, Lena and more light up the screen, in rarely seen footage from the Golden Age of Jazz. Joe Vinikow presents, with Q&A to follow. Not to be missed!
