The Highline Area Food Bank serves our community by distributing grocery items and fresh produce twice a week, and they need your help. They are located at Manhattan Community Hall, located at 18300 4th Ave South in Burien (map below). Volunteers are needed to help distribute food every Tuesday from 11 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., and/or every Thursday from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Please contact Mike at (206) 433-9900 or [email protected] if you’re interested in one or both of these shifts. GARDENERS NEEDED TOO Love to garden? The Food Bank also helps growing and harvesting fresh food for our community. “With help from volunteers, we are able to give our clients fresh, organic vegetables, right from the garden on the property!” They’re looking for a Volunteer to come every Tuesday from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. (schedule can vary) starting now and going through the end of the growing season, about mid-fall. Gardening experience preferred, but they can also show you what to do. Please contact [email protected] if you’re interested in helping in the garden. Distribution Hours:

  • Tuesdays: 12:00pm – 2:30pm
  • Thursday: 10:00am – 12:30pm
  • The 2nd Tuesday evening of each month: 5:30pm – 7:00pm
