As planting season in the Pacific Northwest begins, the Green Burien Partnership is hosting several environmental restoration events in Burien parks this fall, and they’re seeking Volunteers.
All events are open to the public, kid friendly, and require no previous experience.
Refreshments, gloves, and tools will be offered for each event.
Green Burien Day
- WHEN: Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024, 10 a.m.–1 p.m.
- WHERE: Hilltop Park, 2600 S. 128th Street
Join the City of Burien, EarthCorps and Partner in Employment at Hilltop Park as we celebrate our fifth annual Green Burien Day. We’ll be working together to plant baby trees and shrubs. Planting at Hazel Valley Park
- WHEN: Thursday, Oct. 24, 10 a.m.–1 p.m.
- WHERE: Hazel Valley Park, 251 S.W. 126th Street

Planting at Miller Creek Trail
- WHEN: Saturday, Nov. 9, 9:30 a.m.–12 p.m.
- WHERE: Miller Creek Trail, 14455 Des Moines Memorial Drive
Join the King County Miller/Walker Basin Steward at the Miller Creek trailhead to plant native plants. We’ll be working together to plant baby trees, shrubs and groundcovers. Planting at Salmon Creek Ravine
- WHEN: November 9, 10 a.m.– 1 p.m.
- WHERE: Salmon Creek Park, 12550 Shorewood Drive SW
Join the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust and the Salmon Creek Ravine forest stewards to plant indigenous plants at the park. We’ll be working together to plant baby trees and shrubs.
