In a thrilling showdown on Friday night, Oct. 11, 2024, the Highline High Pirates edged out the Lake Washington Kangaroos with a narrow 13-7 victory at Highline Memorial Stadium.

The hard-fought game showcased both teams’ tenacity, but it was the Pirates who emerged victorious in the tightly contested battle.

The Pirates’ defense held strong throughout the game, limiting Lake Washington’s offensive opportunities and forcing key turnovers. The Highline defense then held on, stifling Lake Washington’s attempts to equalize in the closing minutes.

The Pirates are now 2-4 overall for the season in the KingCo 3A conference, and next face Juanita High School in an away conference game on Friday, Oct. 18, with a 7 p.m. kick off. This next matchup will be the Pirates second-to-last game of the 2024 season.
