The King County Sheriff’s Office/Burien Police Department are reporting that a shot was fired at New Start High School in Burien on Thursday afternoon, Jan. 4. Police say a round entered an office window and ended up lodged in a 3-ring binder. The shooting happened around 1:30 p.m., and New Start High School was advised to go into lockdown after two shots were fired outside the building. The school remained in lockdown until dismissal at 3:25 p.m. One bullet hit the school’s administrative offices. No one was injured, and Major Crimes detectives are investigating.
