Burien’s Kennedy Catholic High School announced on Wednesday, Mar. 11, 2020 that – effective this Friday, Mar. 13 – it will be closing school for a minimum of two weeks due to concerns over the covid-19 coronavirus outbreak.

As of noon this Thursday, Mar. 12, all activities, athletics and other scheduled events will also be cancelled.

“At this time we have no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in our school,” the school said in a statement. “However, based on consultation with Seattle Public Schools and our Archdiocesan Catholic High Schools, tomorrow we are planning on a half-day Unified schedule so students can receive their assignments, get their class materials and meet with their teachers. Busses will run on a half-day schedule. There will be breakfast, but no lunches.”

More information and further updates will continue to be communicated by the school at its COVID-19 webpage here: www.kennedyhs.org/covid-19.
