If you wondered what the large police turnout was in the Gregory Heights neighborhood Monday night (Oct. 30), Burien Police/King County Sheriff’s Office are reporting that a Deputy ran the license plate of a moving vehicle and found out the vehicle was reported stolen, and was later found abandoned.

Police say that the deputy lost sight of the vehicle, then looked for it and found it abandoned at SW 158th Street and 9th Ave SW (map below) with the engine still running.

“The vehicle had collided with a large rock and ditch on the corner,” Sgt. Cindi West told The B-Town Blog.

Unfortunately, the suspect(s) were not located, but a search was conducted, which likely included the Sheriff’s Office Guardian One helicopter and numerous officers.

We heard from several Readers that roads were blocked for a while as numerous police officers searched the neighborhood, and possibly even announced on loudspeakers that residents should either leave the area or stay inside.
