The Burien Police Department/King County Sheriff’s Office reports that major police activity in the area of S. 146th Street and 8th Ave S. in Burien (map below) on Monday, Feb. 10, 2020 was due to a vehicle theft.
Police say that a male was spotted driving a stolen vehicle, and upon seeing officers, fled into a wooded area.
The Sheriff’s Guardian One helicopter and K-9 unit were dispatched to the area in attempts to locate the suspect, who was later captured.
At the time, police warned residents to “stay out of the area and/or stay inside your home while we are actively searching.”
