Danny House, owner of Dan the Sausageman (and the Tin Room Bar & Theater), was honored recently as ‘Small Business Person of the Year’ for Washington State by the U.S. Small Business Administration. SBA Administrator Linda McMahon announced this year’s winners from the 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. “Dan the Sausageman would like to thank all of you for 30 years of support,” Danny said in a statement. House even got the honor of being called out in a Tweet on Tuesday, March 20 – no, not from the Tweeter-in-Chief – from WA Sen. Maria Cantwell:
“We gave Dan quite a start when his name was put on the MISS BURIEN!” longtime resident Guy Harper said. “I thought others might like to see this interesting picture…as this had quite an impact on his business.”Small businesses are a strong pillar of the American economy, and @SBAgov recently selected the Washington State Small Business Person of the Year. Congrats to Dan the Sausageman of @Burien for 30 years of delicious snacks!

“In 1988, I started selling sausage and other snacks out of an old Dodge Dart. I drove my reliable old car down the main streets of Seattle to the foothills of Mt. Rainier entering businesses and presenting my goods. I must admit, the beginning was not easy, but it was a challenge I always enjoyed. After a few months, I perfected my introduction-I would enter an office and say, “I am Dan the Sausageman!” People laughed, I sold, and Dan the Sausageman was born.” For more info, visit https://danthesausageman.com.
