The deadline for Artists to apply for the 2024 Burien Gallery Program has been extended to Thursday, Oct. 19, 2023.

This call is open to artists residing in Washington State.

About the Exhibition Program

There are three location options available within the City of Burien:

  • Burien Community Center (14700 6th Ave SW):
    • Lobby Wall—2D Only
    • Lobby wall is 14’ wide x 8’ tall
    • Hanging materials provided
    • 2-month exhibit
    • $50 artist stipend
  • Maverick Apartments Window (SW 150th Street & 6th Ave SW):
    • 2D or 3D
    • 336 square feet window with glass on two sides
    • This space is great for installations and large artwork
    • Artist to provide hanging materials/pedestals, etc.
    • 4-month exhibit
    • $250 artist stipend
  • Merrill Gardens Senior Living Windows (4th Ave SW & SW 150th Street)
    • 2D or 3D
    • Artist to provide hanging materials/pedestals, etc.
    • 4-month exhibit
    • $250 artist stipend
    • Nine Windows:
      • 5 windows: 3’deep x 9’wide x 7’ tall
      • 2 windows: 3’deep x 9’ wide x 9’ tall
      • 1 window: 3’deep x 8’ wide x 10’ tall
      • 1 window: 3’ deep x 9’ wide x 11’ tall

Other Details

  • Call is open to artists residing in Washington State.
  • Works will be juried, and you will be notified by mid-December 2023.
  • Insurance coverage not provided for artwork in Gallery Program.
  • Transportation, install and removal of artworks is responsibility of artist.
  • Wall tags and promotion provided.
