A King County Sheriff’s Deputy patrolling the Burien area observed a shot fired from a white car near 1st Ave. S. and S. 156th Street.
The deputy pursued the car east on S. 156th Street, which runs along the north side of Sea-Tac Airport.
The pursuit ended when the suspect driver attempted to enter I-5 going the wrong way on the northbound off ramp at S. 188th Street (map below).
One deputy ran off the road at the end of the ramp.
Two men were taken into custody and no deputies were injured during the incident.

Of course going the wrong way on the freeway is a recipe for disaster. But to me, the larger story is “shots fired from the car near 1st Ave S and S 156th St.” In other words, yet another shooting in Burien which could have caused serious injury or worse to an innocent bystander.
This is another reason for anyone concerned about crime in Burien to come to the Rally for Public Safety, Monday at 6pm. This is our city – and we need to demand that the city council address the issue of public safety and serious issue of crime in Burien.
Public safety is indeed important and it behooves those who want to address the issue to try understanding how crime has evolved over recent years before pointing fingers. I also note that I asked on b-townblog what was exactly known about the evolution of crime statistics a few weeks ago and that I got no response including from those who appear to claim there is a (new?) problem.
On Lake Burien Minor – with shootings becoming common place – in the heart of downtown Burien, gang shootings along Ambaum regularly, etc, a library overrun by druggies – now is not the time to bury your head in the sand. Denial will not help matters. I don’t think anyone can deny that crime has gotten worse or perhaps the crimes have become more serious.
Maybe the city could use some leadership. Ask most people who the mayor of Burien is and they say they didn’t even know Burien had a mayor. Not saying the current mayor isn’t doing a good job for whatever they are supposed to do. Something needs to happen. Burien is really getting to be a dangerous place to live.
Its not exaggerating to say that there are calls of some sort of shots fired almost every night now in Burien or immediate surrounding area. Top that off with stolen cars galore and one Domestic violence after another. One heck of a town!
We hear them every few nights on 509 just north of Glendale late at night. It’s usually a pop, pop, pop, pop, pop but sometimes there is an answering pop or two as well. It’s getting scary to live here near the freeway.
Not discounting the actual gunshots that are happening in Burien, but you may be hearing vehicles backfiring do to their custom big pipe exhaust systems which make the drivers cool only in their minds. They drag on 509 at night and I’ve seen and heard it myself.
The Burien city council has failed us all.
Time to take our town back from the liberals in charge and make this town safe again for our children.
Seems like every liberal lead city in our country is facing a crime epidemic.
The multiple gun shots you hear are coming from the POLICE,
at their firing range located near S. 112th St and East Marginal Way.
