The second round of election results for Tuesday’s (Nov. 7, 2023), General Election were released Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 8, and Linda Akey, Kevin Schilling and Alex Andrade have pretty much cemented their victories for seats on the Burien City Council.

The three leading City Council candidates’ leads changed by the following amounts, which are likely insurmountable:

  • Akey extended her lead over C. Moore from a lead of 1,254 to 1,262 votes (a 22.47% lead).
  • Schilling increased his lead over Hudson from 1,260 to 1,275 votes (a 22.41% lead).
  • Andrade retained her lead over Marx by 884 votes (a 15.6% lead).

In the King County Council District No. 8 race, outgoing Burien Mayor Sofia Aragon slipped from being down -260 votes behind Teresa Mosqueda, and is now trailing by -612 votes (less than 2%).

The next results will be released Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 9, 2023.

Votes will be certified by King County Elections on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023.

  • Linda Akey: 3,423 • 60.94%
  • *Cydney Moore: 2,161 • 38.47%

Council Position No. 4:

  • *Kevin J. Schilling: 3,471 • 61.00%
  • Patricia Hudson: 2,196 38.59

Council Position No. 6:

  • Krystal Marx: 2,380 • 41.98%
  • Alex Andrade: 3,264 • 57.58%

King County Council

District No. 8:

  • Teresa Mosqueda: 17,224 • 50.68%
  • Sofia Aragon: 16,612 • 48.8%
