On Mother’s Day – Sunday, May 14 at 2 p.m. – ChoralSounds Northwest (CSN) will deliver a choral bouquet about, in honor of, and remembering Moms! This concert is part of a weekend filled with choral music from the choruses of Northwest Associated Arts. As always, CSN and the Youth Choruses encourage families to attend with their affordable Youth Ticket Program. Parents and adults looking for a risk-free way to introduce their children to the joys of choral music can bring young guests for FREE. Youth under age 17 can attend for free when accompanied by a paid adult. Under the direction of Ryan Ellis, this concert includes favorites from the traditional choral repertoire, popular genres, and Broadway including stunning arrangements of Sting’s Fields of Gold, Now Sleeps the Crimson Petal by L’Estrange, a selection from Lauridsen’s Song of Roses, and Bobby McFerrin’s Psalm 23. On Saturday, May 13 at 2pm, KidSounds, YouthSounds & TeenSounds Northwest present a varied and fun show titled Spring is in the Air. On Saturday, May 13 at 2pm, Directors Kerstin Shaffer and Colleen Thomas-Reitsma conduct an entertaining program that welcomes the sunshine with a song and a smile. These Burien-based choruses are part of Northwest Associated Arts (NWAA), which has developed a loyal and growing following with family-friendly shows that offer much more than the usual “choral concert.” Tickets can be purchased online here:
