Gregory Heights Elementary School is calling on the community to help support its 2025 Husky Hike fundraiser, an annual event with a big goal this year – raising money to install soundproofing panels in the school’s cafeteria and multi-purpose room.

Organized by the school’s PTSA, this year’s Husky Hike campaign seeks to raise enough funds ($60,000) to complete the acoustic panel project, which is not covered by district funding.

As of June 1, 2025, $12,690 has been raised.

“We know we are likely not able to raise the full amount this year, but we are aiming high so we can gain some headway with this year’s event,” Monique Serna, Co-President of the Gregory Heights PTSA told The B-Town Blog.

The upgrades aim to reduce noise levels during lunch periods and enhance the experience of school-wide and community events held in the space.

“These panels are sorely needed to support our students each day, but will also make community events more enjoyable,” Serna added.

The Husky Hike also funds other Gregory Heights PTSA-sponsored programs and activities throughout the year.
