Early on New Year’s Day (Jan. 1), a suspected DUI driver crashed into a tree while traveling northbound on 12th Ave South near 112th Street in Burien, killing one passenger and seriously injuring three others. Emily Ann was one of those passengers, and she is now paralyzed from the waist down and recovering at Harborview Medical Center. Doctors have given her a 9% chance of a full recovery. Her family has created an online fundraiser with a goal of raising $5,000 for medical expenses:

“I am raising money for Emily and our parents to help make life a little bit easier when she gets home, also for medical bills and a very long road of physical therapy,” said Baily Boutwell. “She will be at Harborview for quite awhile still but their home will need a lot of upgrading/adjusting to fit Emily’s needs. As many of you know Emily is one of the most amazing, beautiful and strong willed women on the planet and this tragedy has changed her life forever.” “When they brought her in they removed her spleen and had to repair several other organs,” Baily added. “Not only would your donations be greatly appreciated, but frequent visits from family and friends when she gets home will help to keep her spirits up.” As of Saturday, Jan. 4, $740 had been raised so far. Bailey,
If she`s going to need a wheelcahir ramp when she gets home, let me know and I`ll contact my local. We have volunteers (including myself) who build wheelchair ramps for people at no cost to them.
Thank you very much! That is very kind of you.
I`ll talk to them about getting that done for her if its needed.
Do you have any way for me to contact you when I find out?
