Highline High’s Pirates lost a thrilling, close football match against Juanita High Ravens on Friday night, Oct. 18, 2024, losing by a final score of 35-28.

The game, played at Juanita’s home field, saw both teams battle neck-and-neck, with the Ravens pulling ahead in the final minutes.

Juanita’s victory was secured by a crucial kick return touchdown with just seven minutes left in the fourth quarter, followed by a successful extra point that pushed the score to 35-28.

Highline had tied the game earlier in the quarter, but the Ravens responded quickly, taking advantage of the momentum shift.

Despite the Pirates’ efforts, including a fumble recovery and three passing touchdowns, they couldn’t overcome Juanita’s offensive push in the closing minutes.

Highline is now 2-5 on the season, while Juanita improves to 4-3.

The Pirates final game will be against Libery High on Friday night, Oct. 25 at Highline Memorial Stadium, with a 7 p.m. kick off.
