Your Highline High School Pirates looted, swashbuckled and pillaged the Renton Redhawks in Thursday’s final 2023 season home conference varsity football game by a score of 60-0, claiming the KingCo 2A league title.

The resounding victory crowns the Pirates as KingCo 2A league champions, with an overall 8-1 and undefeated 6-0 division record.

Highline averaged just over 55 points per game this season. Last season, they averaged just over 43 points per game – an increase this year of nearly +28 percent (of course high scoring routs like this and last week’s 76-0 win sure help).

WIAA state championship playoffs will start Nov. 10-11, but teams have not yet been assigned to playoff brackets.

Halftime Ceremony Honors Football Seniors

“What an honor, tribute and recognition giving to the Highline High School Football Senior Class at Halftime,” said Pirates alum Jeff Ashley, who played on the team from 1974-77. “Each player was individually recognized by the Coaching Staff along with the Families that support them. They are in the middle of playing a game for the League Championship and instead of retreating to the locker room, all 20 minutes was spent acknowledging the kids and Families.”

Ashley added:

“The Coaching Staff, Team, Athletic Director and Students and Families continue to change the Culture and bring pride back to Highline and the Burien Community. Congratulations to all!”
