A house fire in Burien on Tuesday (July 28) has left a Burien family homeless, and they’re in need of help.
The blaze seriously damaged the interior of a home in the 12900 block of 1st Ave SW early Tuesday afternoon, and luckily there were no injuries.
However, residents Tim Craig, Jennifer Fueston and their 10-year old son were left without much, if anything.
“All of our personal belongings and household goods were destroyed,” Craig said. “What managed to not get burned, was ruined by water damage from efforts to put out the fire. The Red Cross is helping us with a hotel for a few days, but we would love to give our 10 year old son the stability of a home before school starts.”
A Gofundme page has been set up to help them, and you can donate online here:

“The funds raised will go towards the costs of a new rental and help us give our son a furnished room,” Craig added. “Any and all help will be appreciated! Thank you in advance for your generosity in our time of need.” The Seattle branch of the American Red Cross quickly responded to help the family, and in addition to online donations, Jennifer told The B-Town Blog that they also need some specific items:- Boys clothes size 12/14 tops, 10/12 bottoms
- Shoes size 5 boys
- Men’s size 3xl shirts
- Woman’s 3x shirts
