They Drift Sneke X Don’t miss meeting graffiti mural artists Sneke X and They Drift at Burien Arts Gallery’s Artist Reception, this Friday, Oct. 2, from 5 – 8 p.m. Their work is the focus of an excitingly different October exhibit at the Gallery, located at 826 SW 152nd Street in Olde Burien. Sneke One is a fixture in Seattle’s graffiti art and hip-hop scene. He and his crew have left an indelible mark on the Pacific Northwest and cities throughout the world including New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Geneva and Paris. Known for “style writing” Sneke has been delivering dynamic, aerosol murals for over 20 years. He transforms a variety of shapes, symbols and letters into colorful bursts of abstract magnificence. In the past several years, Sneke has moved to a multimedia platform, creating contemporary urban-inspired pieces with canvas, vinyl foam core and layered wood. They Drift (Carlos Aguilar and Ksra) are a couple of daydreaming drifters that have been collaborating for many years through their public art campaigns and mural painting across the globe. A new story comes to life with each large-scale whimsical mural. They Drift is constantly finding new ways of letting everyone feel at home. Artists United also presents a photography exhibit featuring Tom Fletcher and Chris Gonvers. The exhibits run through Oct. 31. The Burien Arts Gallery is the only nonprofit fine-arts gallery between Tacoma and West Seattle. The Gallery is open Wednesday through Saturday, Noon-6 p.m. It is closed Sunday through Tuesday.
