[EDITOR’S NOTEThe following is a Letter to the Editor, submitted by a verified resident. It does not necessarily reflect the opinions of South King Media, nor its staff:]

Please help us save the Eagle Landing Stairs by coming to the Burien City Council meeting this Tuesday night, Feb. 21, 2023, starting at 7 p.m.

Rick Sands, a well-known real estate agent in Burien and I (John White), have created the PBCCMF – “Post -Burien-City-Council-Meeting-Fellowship.” Our goal is to increase the number of people that show up at city council meetings and speak their minds. We have noticed that only one or two people come to City Council meetings to speak out. We hope to increase the numbers and build a fellowship with fellow Burienites.

Our fellowship will be offering one free drink, and a soft opening of “Bosendorfer’s” which is a speakeasy located behind Marlaina’s Mediterranean Kitchen on SW 152nd (map below) just up the street from City Hall. We will have live music and free food. Each person who attends the City Council meeting to join in support of saving the Eagle Landing Stairs – or even those who do not support the Eagle Landing stairs – will receive one free ticket good for one drink plus free food and live music.

Please come to the Council meeting at Burien City Hall at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21. If you plan to speak, please go online here and register, or you can come to the City Council meeting early and register at that time.

You do not have to speak to receive the free drink and invite to the soft opening.

Perhaps you want to speak about the sudden changes on Ambaum Boulevard or you want to speak in support of saving the stairs at Eagle Landing Park or do you want more sidewalks in Burien or do you want the sewer systems to be fixed? It doesn’t matter what your concern is, we are here to support you. We are here to support each other. Come join us and let’s talk while eating some good food and listening to some great music.

The previous message announcing that we would meet at The Point has been moved to Bosendorfer’s.

  • Music starts at 7:45 p.m.
  • Marlaina’s Mediterranean Kitchen is located at 643 SW 152nd Street, Burien, WA 98166 (map below).
  • Enter and ask to be directed to the speakeasy in the back.
