The Seattle Police Department is reporting that a missing 20-month old toddler – Kevin Szal (pictured above), who was last seen Sunday with a man named Michael Mau – was found safe in Burien Wednesday morning, Aug. 26. Police say that the boy – who hadn’t been seen by his mother since Sunday, Aug. 23 – was found safe just after 2 a.m. near SW 136th Street and Ambaum Blvd. SW, apparently with Mau, who had been living in a tent. On Sunday, Kevin’s mother was receiving treatment at Harborview Medical Center when hospital staff informed her that the toddler couldn’t be in the room with her without additional adult supervision. The mother asked Mau, an acquaintance, to take Kevin until other arrangements could be made. The mother had not seen or heard from “Michael†or her son since. The mother raised concerns with a hospital social worker on Tuesday, and Seattle Police were subsequently alerted. Officers initially conducted a search for Kevin, but without success. Dude was living in a tent on Ambaum and 136th…WTF?
This city has gone to hell!
Stop giving these people free hand outs and they will move on to someplace else that does.
Why didn’t the Social Worker at Harborview Hospital get involved to make arrangements for the toddler. Something is wrong with this picture.
Unfortunately, there often is no funding for this kind of assistance.
But there is funding to pay for police to get involved? As I said before there IS something wrong with this picture. And now Mr Mau is probably on their radar.
Good point on the Social Worker. Could be that the mother made arrangements independently and/or that she didn’t want the authorities to be involved.
