At 9:35 a.m. on Friday morning, Mar. 29, 2024, Burien Police and King County Fire District No. 2 were called to the address of 225 SW 152nd Street (map below) for a person who was unresponsive. 

Unfortunately, the person was pronounced deceased at the scene by the fire department.

Two 911 calls came in at/near that location near Umpqua Bank on SW 152nd Street, the first an “unknown aid call” at 9:45 a.m. and the second a non-structural fire (likely a tent) at 10:35 a.m.

Police did not reveal the age nor gender of the victim.

The exact cause of death has not been determined yet, and will be done so by the King County Medical Examiner’s Office at a later date.

Reports are that the victim was a homeless person who came from outside of Burien.
