King County Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating an assault on a Metro bus that occurred just before 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024, at SW 102nd Street and 15th Ave SW (map below).

Police said the driver of the bus sustained injuries, including a possible blow to the head, and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Authorities said an altercation took place between the driver and a suspect, though details of the confrontation remain unclear.

An eyewitness told The White Center Blog that as they went to catch their bus, it looked like the driver had been attacked.

“The police were there and the driver was on the ground, being held upright by a police officer, with his head bleeding,” the witness said. “Another bus came along so I left on it, and another police car was speeding there. Hopefully an ambulance was on the way.”

No arrests have been made, and no suspects are currently in custody.

The investigation is ongoing as deputies continue to gather information about the incident.
