A man with an active warrant was arrested late Tuesday night, Jan. 28, 2025, after leading police on a chase through Tukwila, ultimately stopping across from the police station in a KFC/Taco Bell parking lot.

Police said the incident began near S. 164th Street and 42nd Ave S., where an officer noticed a suspicious vehicle. The driver sped away upon seeing the officer, running multiple stop signs.

The vehicle was later located by a K9 unit near Southcenter Boulevard and Tukwila International Boulevard.

After an unsuccessful attempt at a low-speed PIT maneuver, the driver pulled into the fast-food parking lot across from the Tukwila Police Department.

“The driver was in the mood for ‘Fourth Meal’ – aka Taco Bell – or was startled enough by the PIT maneuver that he pulled into the KFC/Taco Bell parking lot nearby directly across from (drum roll)…..our police station,” police said in a statement.

The K9 unit performed another PIT maneuver in the parking lot, forcing the vehicle to stop.

Officers determined that the suspect had an active warrant for violating a domestic violence protection order and had earlier fled from Burien Police.

The driver was booked into jail on the warrant, with additional felony charges pending.
