A residential fire in Burien on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024 displaced 5 residents, including 2 children, according to the American Red Cross.

Crews were dispatched at 12:04 p.m. to a unit at the Alcove at Seahurst apartments in the 1100 block of SW 139th Street, were on scene at 12:10 p.m., and had a knock down of the fire in a 2nd floor unit at 12:17 p.m., according to Ray Desmarais, Assistant Chief | Fire Marshal for King County Fire District #2.

No injuries were reported, and the investigation of the fire determined it to be accidental. The fire started at the stove top of the unit in question.

Multiple units responded to the blaze.

Property management at the apartment complex stated they’d have alternative units available for affected residents.

The American Red Cross is assisting.
