At around 3:50 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, 2024, Tukwila Police officers responded to reports of shots being fired in the north parking lot of Westfield Southcenter Mall.
One relative to an eyewitness who was at Nordstrom said that the mall was put into lockdown, which was lifted around 4 p.m.
No injuries were reported.
Police said that – based on the initial investigation – it appears that the incident was a targeted act of violence between two parties.
All of the involved parties fled the scene immediately following the incident.
Police are actively investigating the scene.
