The first trailer for an entry into the Burien Film Festival (BFF) has been released – check out the teaser for Johnny Briggs’ “I Whisper Your Name, I Scream Your Name“: [youtube]https://youtu.be/CQM52rMBuPQ[/youtube] The Burien Film Festival is part of the Burien UFO Festival, to be held in Olde Burien on Friday night, April 1. So far 16 filmmakers have signed up for the fest, with each one assigned a Burien neighborhood to highlight. All Burien neighborhoods have been taken except Highline, Evansvale, and Beverly Park. Movie creators wishing to enter the contest must include, in any way they see fit, the following in their ~5-minute films:

  • One Burien Neighborhood­ to be assigned when entering the contest.
  • A story or message about, or a feature of, your assigned neighborhood.
  • A love interest.
  • Highlight at least one small business, preferably in the neighborhood you are assigned. If your neighborhood is residential, then pick a nearby Burien business.
  • The artist­-created symbol for the neighborhood assigned.
  • Upon registration, each filmmaker will be assigned a neighborhood. If you have a neighborhood preference this is first come, first choice.
Prizes:
  • First Place:­ $1500
  • Second Place:­ $1000 ­
  • Third Place:­ $750
The deadline for sign-up has been extended from March 8 to March 20. The deadline for turning in films is March 25. “The sooner you get a trailer the sooner it will be shown on the Tin Room Theater screen,” Organizer John White said.
