Burien Police deputies helped revive an 85-year-old patient during an aid call Aug. 4, performing CPR and using an automated external defibrillator (AED) until fire and medical crews arrived, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the call and “immediately stepped into action,” according to police. They continued lifesaving measures until Burien Fire, King County Fire District 2 and King County Medic One arrived.
Under the direction of paramedics, the deputies continued assisting until firefighters took over care, restored the patient’s pulse and helped get the patient to a hospital.
“You just never know where this job is going to take you,” police said in a statement.
No additional information about the patient, the location of the call or the patient’s condition was released.
