A house fire broke out in the 500 block of S. 152nd Street (map below) Friday afternoon (July 29), just east of Highline High School. The call came in shortly after 5 p.m., and the cause is under investigation but appears accidental, authorities said. The fire started in the basement, and had already burned through the first floor and into the second floor and attic when firefighters arrived. Crews entered the home into the basement, first and second floor, and did interior operations for about 26 minutes. The onscene commander decided it was too dangerous to be working inside and withdrew all personnel. Defensive positions were then set up on the exterior. Due to the outside temperature, a second alarm was called. “There were o civilian injuries, but two firefighters went to Highline Medical Center with heat related issues,” Fire Chief Mike Marrs told The B-Town Blog. The house will probably be a total loss. “We had a crew there through the night knocking down hotspots and smoldering contents,” Marrs added. 1. The family is one of my little boy’s caregivers during the week. Everything is a total loss and this evening I was informed the house is so unstable, they can’t even go in it to see if there’s anything that can be recovered. I can see the best way to get ahold of them for assistance, because it sounds like they will need EVERYTHING…

    2. The house was a total lost my son and mom and my sons friend were home at the time of the fire all made it out safe with our dog. We are looking for our two cats. There is a go fund me account my best friend set up.
