    1. Hey everyone, Gretchen wants to celebrate and promote war crimes, genocide, and racism on the day that Trump threatened to wipe out a civilization! Details to come on when and where.

    2. I would love to see a Trump rally in the area. Would be interesting to compare the turnout at such an event with these rallies and see whether more local residents turn out for democracy or fascism.

  1. Don’t get me wrong I’m all for a good protest, dang it I grew up in the 60’s and 70’s in the height of protests.
You do realize that the POTUS doesn’t give a rats a$$ about your protests and if anything it builds his ego up watching you do them. He doesn’t care if its good, bad and or ugly, he just cares they’re happening because of him.
But you all, have at it. ✌️

  2. Chanting on the side of road, which some observers describe as “whineing” will do absolutely nothing.

The feds could care less that you feel indifferent. Screaming at air changes nothing, specifically in an area that has nothing to do with your *claimed* issue or people….

Their are much better ways, start by not taking the path of least resistance….

  3. I think yelling and screaming in a busy intersection my political thots for 2 hours i would rather stay home. This seems like all its going to do is make some people honk there horn in anger or support a few will give the middle finger. Some teenagers will toss full sodas at you or other fluids and then make their car back fire sounding like gun shots . The local news will have a story to make money off of so . Nothing good kinda pointless

  4. Folks, if you don’t want to participate, you don’t have to. Those of you saying this accomplishes nothing should take a look at your dedication to posting comments on a local news blog, and ask who is doing more for their community. There’s nothing wrong with exercising your right to free speech; just remember that we all share that same right, thanks to the US Constitution. Folks speaking out does not inconvenience you in any way, so let people come together. Personally it gives me just a little bit of hope to see people demonstrating, and it strengthens the faith I have in my community. I don’t care if POTUS sees it; I can see it, and it brings me joy.

    1. Tom’s argument ignores reality. Protests absolutely can and do inconvenience some people, traffic, tension, and disruption in a small town aren’t imaginary. Acting like it has zero impact is just dismissive. Im not saying all protests are bad or wrong but pointing out distinct facts that come with them.

Showing up with a sign doesn’t automatically mean you’re “doing more” for the community, especially if it’s creating division instead of solving anything. Why effect Burien residents when they have nothing to do with your “problem”, wouldn’t the correct audience be better to get in front of?

Yes, free speech is a right. That doesn’t make every use of it constructive either. And “it brings me joy” isn’t a defense it just shows you’re focused on *your own feelings*, not the effect it has on everyone else.

There are better ways to actually be heard. The state of Washington and Burien officials already agree with you im sure, …. so quite dismal effects in this specific instance.
