Call for Artists and Film Makers

The Second Annual Burien Film Festival is coming up April 1, 2016 in Olde Burien. CALL FOR ARTISTS The Burien Film Festival is Seeking 17 Burien Artists to make history in Burien. There are 17 neighborhoods which make up the city of Burien. Each artist will be assigned one Burien neighborhood and receive a commission to design a symbol or logo for that neighborhood, eventually to be displayed on a flag. It would be ideal if the artist was from that neighborhood. Film makers will be required to use each art piece in their film or movie. Artists wishing to participate are invited to a special information reception at the 913 Restaurant Tuesday January 26th at 7:00 pm where artists will hear about the project and be assigned to their neighborhood. Neighborhoods are shown on the map. CALL FOR FILMMAKERS This year’s five-minute short film contest will highlight Burien’s 17 neighborhoods. Movie creators wishing to enter the contest must include, in any way they see fit, the following in their films:
  • One Burien Neighborhood – to be assigned when entering the contest
  • A story or message about, or a feature of, your assigned neighborhood
  • Highlight at least one small business preferably in the neighborhood you are assigned. If your neighborhood is residential, then pick a nearby Burien business.
  • The film must include the artist-created symbol for the neighborhood assigned.
Upon registration, each filmmaker will be assigned their neighborhood. – The deadline for registering for 2016 Burien Film Festival is March 20, 2016 – The deadline for turning in completed films is midnight March 25, 2016 Email Shelli Park to receive your 2016 registration form: crimsonpark@hotmail.com
