Burien Girl Scout Juniors from Troop #45169 recognized that litter and pollution are a problem at Seahurst Beach and wanted to do something to fix it, which earned them a bronze award! So they worked with the Burien Environmental Science Center as well as the Burien Parks Department who donated three large trash cans; the girls painted earth friendly designs on the trash cans, using bright colors, so they stand out and get noticed, and cut down on littering. They were recently installed at three beach locations, so be on the lookout for them when you’re at the beach!]]>
