The Seattle Seahawks brought their game-day spirit to the inaugural Girls Flag Football Jamboree at Highline Memorial Stadium last week, highlighting the growth of girls flag football in Highline Public Schools.

Blitz, Blue Thunder, Seahawks dancers, and Seahawks legend Bryan Walters energized the stadium, joining players and fans for a day of fierce competition. Walters, who played in the Seahawks’ Super Bowl XLVIII championship game, also presented awards during the event.

Players from Highline High School faced off against the Evergreen High School and Tyee High School cooperative team, while Mount Rainier High School competed against Auburn Riverside High School. Junior varsity matchups followed the varsity games, with athletes showcasing their skills on the field.

Highline Pirates head coach Nicky Fualaau was recognized as a “Coach of the Game” and received a $1,000 donation to the team’s flag football program, courtesy of the Seahawks. Auburn Riverside’s coach also earned the same honor for their contributions to the sport.

The event highlighted the rapid growth of girls flag football in the region and its impact on young athletes.

“Together, we will show the world that the future of football is female,” the Seahawks Community Engagement team said on Instagram.
