The Seattle Seahawks are set to bring their signature gameday energy to Highline Memorial Field this Thursday, Dec. 5, 2024, for a special Girls Flag Football Takeover.
The event will celebrate the growing popularity of girls’ flag football and feature high school teams from Highline High School, Mount Rainier High School, a co-op team from Evergreen and Tyee high schools, and Auburn Riverside High School.
The event, running from 4 to 7 p.m., will include two jamboree games alongside activities and appearances by Seahawks players, legends, dancers, Blitz the mascot, Boom, and the Blue Thunder drumline.
Community members are invited to join in the festivities and support the local athletes.
Event Schedule:
- 4 p.m.: Seahawks pre-game activities kick off
- 5 p.m.: First jamboree game
- 6:05 p.m.: Awards presentation, where Seahawks players and legends will recognize the winning teams’ coaches with “Coach of the Game” custom footballs and financial donations to their schools
- 6:15 p.m.: Second jamboree game
Highline Memorial Field – which received new synthetic turf and the state’s first permanent lines for girls’ flag football earlier this year – will host the event. The field upgrade was partially funded by a $250,000 grant from the NFL Foundation Grassroots Program, underscoring the Seahawks’ commitment to expanding opportunities for girls in sports.
This takeover is part of a broader Seahawks initiative to amplify high school girls’ flag football through gameday-like experiences, pre-game inclusion, activation tents, fan giveaways, and meet-and-greets with Seahawks talent.
