Monday night (July 4) around 11:30 p.m. King County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of two women shot near S. 112th St. and 1st Ave S. (map below). Police say that the women were with a group of people lighting off fireworks at that location. Witnesses said a white car was driving erratically back and forth in between the area where the group was lighting fireworks. When the vehicle stopped nearby, a man from the group approached the vehicle to yell at the driver to stop driving recklessly. An altercation occurred between the man and two people in the car. During the altercation shots rang out and two women in the group were shot. It is unknown at this time if the shots came from the occupants of the car. The woman who was shot in the back is a pregnant, 24-year old Burien woman. She was taken to Harborview Medical Center, and is in serious but stable condition. The other woman, 46, from Seattle, was taken to Highline Medical Center with a gunshot wound to her foot. The vehicle in the altercation is described as a white older model sedan occupied by two females.     1. If I was pregnant, shot in the back, I’d be begging to go to Harborview. Best trauma center in the state. And I have pretty good insurance.

  4. frist of all the woman in the white car almost hit or car which had 2 newborn twins in it and we had a group of or family just getting there to light the firework and when we heard shots we all got or poor children and threw them to the ground thank god our children where safe too bad they didnt find that scumbag

    1. marisa, I am sorry that you thought it would be safe to bring children, including newborns, to a place where things where alcohol was mixed with blowing things up.

  6. I was there , Not everyone there was a innocent bystander in the group including the women who got shot, who gets into a altercation when your pregnant? No one nowadays fights with fist like the old days one on one, it’s all about pulling a gun out and trying to be the badass, but it just make you a coward. SMH!!!
