Burien Police / King County Sheriff’s Office explain why there was major police activity – including the Guardian One helicopter – in Burien on Wednesday night, Sept. 30, 2020:

What was the helicopter doing in Burien on Wednesday night? Here is the story:

A homeowner locks up her house and goes on vacation. She has her son come to check on the house and get the mail for her while she is gone. He gets there around 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30, and finds the lights on in the house. He looks in the window and a couple of criminals are in the house helping themselves to his mom’s stuff.

He confronts them and they run into the night. Burien PD races to the scene and finds one suspect hiding nearby. The second one proves a little more difficult to find, so they call the KCSO helicopter and canine team in to help them look.

Together, they found him hiding in the bushes a few block away.

Both of the criminals were then given a ride to the King County Jail.
