As a cold front moves into the region, Burien’s Severe Weather Shelter will open beginning this Thursday night, Jan. 11, 2024, at 7 p.m.

Organizers will continue to keep an eye on the weather and unless there is a shift, they will remain open into next week. The National Weather Service is predicting a modified arctic front will move south through Western Washington Thursday night into early Friday, and snow is possible with the front as it moves through the region.
