Discover Burien is proud to welcome its first “Gold Member” – Jerrod Sessler – founder of HomeTask.
Jerrod grew up in Burien and has always been a passionate supporter of the Burien Community. Andrea Reay, the Executive Director of Discover Burien, recently had the opportunity to talk with Jerrod about why he has chosen to base his business and his family in Burien.
“Burien has been my home since I moved here in 1974,” Jerrod said. “I have had the privilege of traveling all over the world but enjoy calling Burien home. Having grown up here, my relationships in this community run deep. I love the people of this community which make me even more passionate to contribute to making Burien a great place to live for my kids, grandkids and the rest of the Burienites.”
Jerrod continued, “this area also happens to be unique in that the geography allows us to enjoy a small town environment while being very close to nearly every imaginable amenity that life offers.”
Most of Jerrod’s business ventures are either in franchise or in the health arena due to his interest in healthy lifestyle activities after being terminally diagnosed with cancer over 15 years ago. Jerrod combined these two arenas to most recently launch the rapidly growing Hot Feet Fitness which he plans to franchise across the country. The very first Hot Feet studio is located right here in Burien and you can learn more about it by visiting www.HotFeetFitness.com.
HomeTask intends to continue to dominate the service space by providing unprecedented support and service to their Franchise Partners while continuing to add additional brands to the HomeTask family until every type of service known or needed can be fulfilled through a HomeTask service brand. Jerrod envisioned from the start an environment where people were respected, honored and encouraged to grow – a true team culture. So, that is what he created with the help of a great team at the HomeTask support center and truly amazing Franchise Partners
Not only is Mr. Sessler one of Burien’s most successful business owners, but he has always been very active in the Burien Community as well. He founded the event Burien Bites, and even runs and operates HomeTask Cares, a 501 c 3 non-profit organization that gives back to the communities it serves.
When Andrea asked Jerrod why he made the choice to upgrade his current Discover Burien membership to the higher Gold level, Jerrod responded:
“As a small business owner, I need to constantly push myself to grow with my business. There are few opportunities where I can buy my way to results but generally it takes a lot of hard work and relationship building. Being able to invest in my business through Discover Burien is a way to purchase some of the results that I do not have time to produce. Discover Burien is focused on building successful business owners in this region and their facilities to help make that happen are continuing to grow each year the organization is striving for our local economy. I feel it is a great investment for our community for me to sign up for the gold membership and an even better investment for my company.”

Gold membership must be good or it wouldn’t be reported. However what are the advantages and/or perks of the title, and what does it cost? Just curious.
Janet the cost to be a “Gold Member” is $299 a month; we just added that to the story!
