Friday’s (Aug. 4, 2023) fourth round of election returns show that Burien City Council, Position No. 2 incumbent Cydney Moore gained strength in second place over Rut Perez-Studer.

On Tuesday night (Aug. 1), Moore was initially trailing Perez-Studer by 73 votes, but by Thursday (Aug. 3) regained the lead by 77 votes.

Now she’s ahead by 204 votes, pushing Perez-Studer further back into third place – and most likely out of the General Election.

The top two vote-getters for each race move on to the Nov. 7 General Election.

Votes will be finalized by King County Elections on Aug. 15, 2023.

Registered Voters: 29,539 • 30.91%

  • Linda Akey: 2,787 • 31.93%
  • *Cydney Moore: 2,473 • 28.33%
  • Rut Perez-Studer: 2,269 • 26.00%

Council Position No. 4: 

  • *Kevin J. Schilling: 4,834 • 55.75%
  • Patricia Hudson: 2,764 • 31.88%
  • Daniel Reed Martin: 995 • 11.48%

The next round of results will be released by King County Elections on Monday, Aug. 7 by 4:30 p.m.
